n 1917, the Frank Funeral Home was established in the one hundred block of East Harvey. Mr. Frank worked in a grocery store as a clerk and Mrs. Frank took care of the funeral home until a call was received. In July of 1923, they purchased the Lane home at 417 N. Washington and remodeled it into the funeral home where it is still at the same location. It has been remodeled to increase the size of the chapel and selection room. For a number of years, Mr. and Mrs. Frank manufactured and sold their own casket line.
In October of 1945, Jack Lansden joined the staff. After the death of Mr. Frank in 1948, Mrs. Frank and her two daughters, Mrs. Helen Gardner and Mrs. Ruth Shofner, operated the funeral home. Mrs. Frank died in 1960. In 1961, the funeral home was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Jack Lansden and Mr. and Mrs. Don Gardner. Mrs. Lansden and Don Gardner being grandchildren of the Franks. They were the third generation in the funeral home. In March of 1981 Mr. and Mrs. Gardner sold their interest to Jack and Dorothy Lansden and Stephen Lansden. Steve is the fourth generation of this family to serve this community. The Frank Funeral Home is the oldest business in Wellington under the same family ownership.
In 1982 Jack and Dorothy Lansden retired and Rick Jones joined the staff.
Today Steve Lansden and Rick Jones carry on this tradition as co-owners of Frank Funeral Home.
