Allen Harry "A. H." "Pappy" Skibbe, age 94, passed away Friday evening, February 8, 2008 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, KS. He was a retired farmer and township grader operator.

Allen Harry Skibbe was born on June 5, 1913 in Marion Kansas to Theo and Anna (Nuss) Skibbe.

On June 2, 1939 he married Helen F. Kabureck in Wichita, KS. She preceded him in death in 1997.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen; three brothers, two sisters, three grandchildren, and one great great grandson.

Survivors include two sons, Merlin Skibbe of South Haven, KS and Galen Skibbe of Arkansas City, KS; two daughters, Sherril Starlin and Karen Glen both of Arkansas City, KS; three sisters, Pearl Doyle of Wellington, KS, Evelyn Evans of Oregon, and Alice Wolfe of Washington; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. at Frank Funeral Home. Pastor Pete Seidel of New Life Fellowship Church in Arkansas City, KS will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington, KS.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 11, 2008 from 2:00 – 9:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Association. Contributions can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
