Obituary
Alta M. Wilkerson, age 95, of Wellington, passed away Monday morning, June 1, 2015 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, KS. Through the years Alta had worked as a bookkeeper for her husband's welding business.
Alta M. (Ritterhouse) Wilkerson was born on April 27, 1920 in Moreland, OK to Lloyd Ritterhouse and Myrtle (Sylvia) Ritterhouse. She was a 1938 graduate of Wellington High School.
Alta married Merle E. Wilkerson on April 29, 1939 in Wellington, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merle in 1978; son, Norman Wilkerson; daughter, Judith Meslin; brothers, Richard, Dwight, Lloyd and Dean Ritterhouse; sisters, Wilda Bouquot, Vada Sullivan, and Margaret Barbou; and granddaughter, Jennifer Meslin.
Survivors include her sisters, Joyce James of Ness City, KS and Verba Dunbar of Pico Rivera, CA; two grandchildren, Jason Meslin and his wife Rebecca and Julee Meslin; great grandchildren, Caitlin, Jason, Eden, and Rowan Williams and Jonah and Elijah Meslin.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral Services will be held at a later date.
Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
