Obituary

Benjamin Eric Nance, 41, died on April 25, 2021. Ben was born on September 3, 1979 in Emporia, KS to Tim and Susan Nance. At the age of three Ben and his family moved to Wellington. He graduated from Wellington High School in 1998. Ben was an outstanding multi-sport athlete with baseball being his passion. He threw the first ever complete game no hitter in Wellington High School history. Ben shared his passion for sports and love of kids by coaching some of his oldest nephew Ben's baseball and football teams.

Ben became a proud father when his son Easton was born in 2008 and again when his daughter Isley was born in 2010. His world was complete, and he cherished his time with his children. They spent many weekends camping at the lake and playing catch in the yard. They liked to go to Petland and get puppy kisses. Ben, Easton and Isley spent lots of time fishing together where they would have competitions as to who could catch the most tree limbs. Ben always seemed to win. Their Saturday morning routine was  to go to Casey's and then go for long drives. Ben's time with his kids was the most precious thing to him.

He was an incredible father, son, brother, and friend to many. Ben did not know a stranger and made friends wherever he went. He had the biggest heart and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Ben always rooted for the underdog, which is probably why he was a Cubs fan.

Ben is survived by his son Easton and daughter Isley of Derby; mother Susan Nance, sister Kristan DeJarnett  (Shawn), brothers  David (Kelly) all of Wellington and Clay of Parsons. His nephews and nieces Ben, Addyson, Baylee (Skyler),  Annika, Rhett, Elly, and Maddie, and great nephew Dawson.

He is preceded in death by his father Tim Nance, his grandparents Don and Gerry Adkins and Robert and Irene Nance.
