Bernadine "Bernie" Crittenden, age 85, passed away early Tuesday morning, September 22, 2020 at her home in Wellington. Bernie was a long time Wellington resident and a retired United States Postal Service Clerk.

Bernie was born on November 22, 1934 in North Platte, Nebraska to Alex and Zoe McKiernan.

Bernadine McKiernan married Max Crittenden on July 22, 1955 at the First Baptist Church in Wellington, KS. They had celebrated 58 years of marriage before Max passed away in March of 2014.

She loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed attending and supporting her children and grandchildren's activities. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was the pianist for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max Crittenden; son, Luke Crittenden; granddaughter, Alexis Crittenden; twin brother, Bernard and brothers, William and Larry McKiernan.

Survivors include children, Kurk Crittenden and his wife Diane of Wellington, Shawn Crittenden and Angela of Wellington, Carmen Hull and Monty of Wichita, eight grandchildren, Danny, Libby, Kristin, Amber, Allyson, Ashley, Alex and Riley; 15 great grandchildren and one on the way.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Baptist Church on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. Pastor Bob Nusser will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 1:00 – 7:00 P.M. In honoring Bernie's wishes the casket will remain closed.

A memorial has been established with the First Baptist Church in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
