Obituary

Berneata M. Frost, age 94, a Wellington resident for most of her life, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, November 18, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Wellington.

Berneata M. (Davis) Frost was born on May 11, 1914 in rural Bluff City, KS to Alvin H. Davis and Edna E. (Lively) Davis.

She married Charlie A. Frost on June 17, 1936 in Newkirk, OK. He preceded her in death on May 29, 1993.

Berneata, along with her husband, Charlie, owned the Playmor Roller Rink in Wellington from 1948–1957. After Charlie's retirement from the railroad, they enjoyed traveling in their motor home and spending time in Branson, MO. She also enjoyed crafts, crocheting, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie; one son, Bob Tracy; two brothers, Charles and Virgil Davis; and a grandson, Allen Frost.

Survivors to honor her memory include her three sons, Eugene and his wife, Waunita of Meade, KS, Jimmie and his wife, Pat of Wellington, KS, and Lee Roy and his wife Sandra of Belton, TX; one daughter, Sandy Baker and her husband, Shorty of Wellington, KS; one brother, Loren Davis of Justin, TX; twelve grandchildren, Bob Tracy, Jr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Rhonda Weston, Chris Frost, and Jeff Frost all of Meade, KS, Kim Janney and Shawn Frost of Wellington, KS, Scott Frost of Allen, TX, Stacey Frost and Melody Cowger of Belton, TX, Terry Gandy and Ricky Gandy of Wellington, KS, and Shanda Hynes of Suffolk, VA; 31 great grandchildren; and 28 great great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 21, 2008 at Prairie Lawn Cemetery. Reverend Brent Clayton will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 20, 2008 from 1:00 – 9:00 P.M.

Two memorials have been established in Berneata's name with Hospice Care of Kansas and the American Cancer Society. Memorials can be left at the funeral home.
