Mary "Bernice" Shore, age 94, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 at Spring View Manor in Conway Springs, KS. She was a resident in the Mayfield area most of her life.

Mary "Bernice" (Mears) Shore was born on February 28, 1918 in Argonia, KS to Orville Mears and Virginia (White) Mears.

Bernice married Clifford J. Shore on March 24, 1937 in Kingman, KS. They had celebrated 60 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on July 12, 1997.

She was a member of the Mayfield Federated Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford; one son, Fred Shore; one grandson, Eric Shore; one brother and one sister.

Survivors include two sons, Butch Shore of Mayfield, KS and Ronald Shore of Scott City, KS; two sisters, Betty Young of Ponca City, OK and Erma Mayfield of Hutchinson, KS; eight grandchildren, Kevin Shore, Rhonda Shore, Randy Shore, Brian Shore, Sandy Metz, Bret Shore, Rocky Shore and Trina Shore; 20 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at the Mayfield Federated Church in Mayfield, KS at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 17, 2012. Pastor Frank DeFisher and Pastor Sallie Shore will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Argonia Cemetery, in Argonia, KS.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 16, 2012 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the Mayfield Federated Church in lieu of flowers.
