Bertha M. Brown, age 97, longtime Wellington resident, passed away Saturday evening, January 18, 2020 at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis – Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center in Wichita, KS.

Bertha M. (West) Brown was born on January 28, 1922 in Fort Scott, KS to Charlie Edgar West and Elnora Jane (Roberts) Brown.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and sisters; two sons; and one daughter.

Survivors include four sons, Clay McHenry and his wife Elaine of Yukon, OK, Thomas McReynolds and his wife Kathy of Portsmouth, VA, Ralph Brown and his wife Ufemia, and Joe Brown all of Wellington, KS; three daughters, Carol Bohr of Independence, KS, Verna Hearlson and her husband Glenn of Wellington, KS and Evelyn Atkinson of Caldwell, KS; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at 2:30 P.M. at Sumner Memorial Gardens in Wellington, KS. Father Hung Pham will officiate.

In honoring Bertha's wishes there will be no visitation.
