Beryl Lee Stonehocker, age 75, of rural Clearwater, KS died on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, KS.

Beryl Lee Stonehocker was born on June 24, 1933 in Arvada, CO the sixth of seven children born to Roy Sr. and Rebecca (Shaklee) Stonehocker.

On May 7, 1955 he was united in marriage to Bessie Orrell at Newkirk, OK and to this union one daughter and two sons were born.

Beryl and his wife moved to the farm at Clearwater, KS in 1957. He worked for Cornejo and Sons in Wichita for 10 years while farming and retired at age 65. He attended the Clearwater Nazarene Church for 14 years. He served on the Sumner County Planning Board for 31 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie of the home; two sons, Steven Stonehocker and his wife Noreen and Kevin Stonehocker and his wife Monika both of Clearwater, KS; one daughter, Janet Longbine and her husband Larry of Anthony, KS; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at Frank Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. Reverend Mike McAbee will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Porter Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the Clearwater Library. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
