Betty "Ruth" Aday, age 69, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on July 7, 2009 at Doctor's Hospital in Edinburg, TX. Ruth was a homemaker and a long time Wellington resident before retiring and moving to Texas in 2002.
Betty Ruth Aday was born on September 24, 1939 in Wellington, KS to Emmet Alfred Rothrock and Marie Louise (Ordway) Rothrock.
Betty Ruth Rothrock married Harold Lloyd Aday on May 5, 1956 in Independence, KS. They had recently celebrated 53 years of marriage.
Ruth enjoyed needle work, she was a lifelong student and teacher of nature, and many people have benefited from her numerous volunteer activities.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Roger; and one sister, Ann McIntyre.
Survivors include her husband, Harold of Weslaco, TX; one daughter, Phyllis Rains and her husband Marvin of Wellington, KS; two brothers, Charles Rothrock of Winsboro, TX and Richard Rothrock of Quitman, TX; one sister, Janet Konczak of Arlington, TX; six grandchildren, Steve Cramer and his wife Emily of Kansas City, MO, Tim Cramer and his wife, Heather of Wellington, KS, Russ Rains and his wife Jaime of Wellington, KS, Aubrey Gallagher and her husband Shawn of McPherson, KS, Kelsey Rains of Wichita, KS and Emily Rains of Wellington, KS; seven great grandchildren, Malachi and Evelyn Cramer of Kansas City, MO, Brentasia, Blaze, and Gabrielle Cramer of Wellington, KS, and ColinRay and Cade Rains of Wellington, KS.
Funeral Services will be held at First Southern Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. Pastor Phil Wylie will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 13, 2009 from 1:00 – 9:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with First Southern Baptist Church and Estero Llano Grande State Park. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
