Betty Louise Gilbreth, age 67, passed away Tuesday evening, March 13, 2012, at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, KS.

Betty Louise (O'Bleness) Gilbreth was born on November 12, 1944 in Davenport, OK to Marion O'Bleness and Doris (Potter) O'Bleness. Betty was raised in Oklahoma and attended school in Davenport, OK. She married Jim Gilbreth, Sr., in 1960 and was married to him for 32 years. Four children were born into this marriage: Regina in 1961, Jim, Jr. in 1963, Michael in 1964, and Bobby in 1975. Betty moved to Wellington with her family in 1974.

She worked for Denier Mills Textiles in Oklahoma for many years. She also worked for local restaurants once they moved to Wellington.

Betty enjoyed working crossword puzzles, playing solitaire, and watching old movies.

She is preceded in death by her parents; three grandchildren; and one sister.

Survivors include her four children, Jim Gilbreth, Jr., of Wellington, KS, Mike Gilbreth of Owassa, OK, Bobby (Danielle) Gilbreth of Wellington, KS, and Regina Bailey of Wellington, KS; two brothers, Darrell O'Bleness of Enid, OK and Charles Deans of Oklahoma City, OK; three sisters, Neva (Jim) Cook of Wellington, KS, Barbara Bowman of Medford, OK, and Marian (Dwaine) Smith of Haysville, KS; eight grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 17, 2012 from 1:00 – 4:00 P.M. along with a brief service to be held at 1:00 led by Pastor Darren Williams.

A memorial has been established with Hospice Care of Kansas. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
