Betty L. Holdaway, age 95 of Wellington, KS, passed away on January 12, 2022 following a short illness.

Betty was the eldest daughter of Albert & Lena Watkins and was born on April 19, 1926 in Springfield, MO.

Betty and her husband owned and operated Watkins Grocery on east Douglas in Wichita, KS for many years. She then worked as an office manager. After retiring, Betty and her husband Dale traveled the country in a semi truck and trailer they owned and operated.

Following her husband Dale's passing in 1994, Betty returned to her hometown of Wellington, KS to be closer to her sister and brother after residing for many years in Park City, KS. Betty enjoyed going to the casinos and also watching most all sports and game shows. She always had a smile and a hug for family and friends.

Betty is survived by her brother, Maurice L. Watkins of Wellington, KS; two sons, Jim Holdaway of Colorado Springs, CO and Joe Holdaway of Valley Center, KS; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wiloby "Dale" Holdaway; daughter, Judy Bench; and sister, Shirley Witham.

In honoring her wishes, there will be no services. Burial was at Sumner Memorial Gardens.
