Billie Doris Kabureck, age 84, passed away Monday morning, October 15, 2012 at the Select Specialty Hospital – St. Francis in Wichita, KS. She retired in 1985 after several years as a cook at the Ramada Inn and Lakeside Lodge Nursing Home. She was also a volunteer at the Manna Book Store for several years.
Billie Doris (Miller) Kabureck was born on November 17, 1927 in Cameron, Missouri to Leroy and Thelma "Rose" (Gulley) Miller.
She married Floyd L. Kabureck on June 27, 1947 in Wichita, KS. They had celebrated 19 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on October 25, 1966.
Billie enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd in 1966; and her daughter, Lorie (Kabureck) Riggs in 2011.
Survivors include two sons, Roy Kabureck and Floyd Kabureck of Wellington, KS; four daughters, Terry Sizemore, Kathy Teague and her husband Marvin, Evelyn Rose and Penny Watts and her husband Ray all of Wellington, KS; one brother, Kenneth Miller of South Haven, KS; one sister, Dorothy Shaw of Henderson, NV; 19 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at First Free Will Baptist Church in Wellington, KS on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. Reverend Zane Brooks will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 9:00 – 8:00 P.M. Family will be present to greet friends from 7:00 – 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the First Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
