Billie June Whaley, age 92, of Perth, KS, lifelong Sumner County resident, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 31, 2017 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington.

Billie June (Ray) Whaley was born on July 7, 1925 in Argonia, KS to Clarence Ray and Alta (Bingaman) Ray.

Billie married Ed Lincoln Whaley on May 5, 1945 in Newkirk, OK. He preceded her in death on April 24, 2001.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed; son, Clint Whaley; brothers, Cleo Ray and Melvin Ray; and sisters, Bonnie Langford and Dixie Kalivoda.

Survivors include her children, Albert Whaley and his wife Carol of Perth, KS and Frances Whaley of Perth, KS; daughter-in-law, Wanda Whaley of Caldwell, KS; brother, Roger Ray of Milan, KS, Max Ray of Quitman, TX; sister, Joyce Jones of Cheney, KS; grandchildren, Brett Wiley and his wife Rosie of Viola, KS, Barry Wiley, Heather Anderson and her husband David all of Perth, Brandi Coker of Wichita, KS, Darin Wiley and his wife Colleen, Troy Whaley all of Perth, Travis Whaley and his wife Kristi of Wellington, Tara Rud and her husband Gus of Caney, KS, Kyane May and her husband Chad of Corbin, Codi Schale and her husband Nick of Leavenworth, KS, and Jake Whaley and his wife Julie of Harper, KS; 18 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at the Corbin Methodist Church on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow the service at Bethany Cemetery at Perth, KS.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the Skilled Nursing Unit at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
