Bonnie Jean Nichols, 85, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2011, of pneumonia in Houston, TX.
Bonnie Jean (Black) Nichols was born on October 26, 1925 in Wellington, KS to Ray Benton and Iona Bessie Black. She was a graduate of Wellington High School, where she was homecoming queen. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri.
Bonnie married Victor Shuey Nichols on June 3, 1945. Together they raised three children.
She became a legal secretary and eventually owned her own secretarial service. Bonnie's many interests included photography, dancing, playing cards and bingo.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vic.
Survivors include two sons, Victor Ray Nichols and his wife Leslie and Clark David Nichols and his wife Lynn; one daughter, Cindy Sue Case and her husband John; four grandchildren, Lisa Beth Case, Debra Ann Case, Krysta Lynn Nichols and Austin David Nichols; and one sister, Betty Smith and her husband Cliff.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, 1422 E. Harvey, Wellington, KS.
A memorial has been established with the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. Memorials can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
