Boyd Lee Jones, Sr., age 82, of Milan, KS, passed away February 20, 2019 at the Harry Hynes Hospice Unit at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, KS. He retired in 1999 as a Conductor for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad after 43 years of service.

Boyd was born on March 18, 1936 in Kingman, KS to Boyd E. Jones and Blanche E. (Barnett) Jones. He graduated from Clay Center High School and served four years in the United States Navy.

Boyd married Norma J. Glover in January of 1989 in Wellington, KS.

He served as Mayor of the City of Milan for 20 years. He enjoyed mowing, landscaping, gardening and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Melvin, Robert, and Ray Jones; one sister, Norma Watters; one grandson; and one great granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Jones of Milan, KS; one son, Boyd Jones, Jr. and his wife Linda of Milton, KS; two daughters, Jeannine Russell and her husband Patrick of Wichita, KS and Jennifer Morris and her husband Bill of Maize, KS; one step-daughter, Traci Reames of Broken Arrow, OK; one step-son,

Todd Glover of The Woodlands, TX; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Boyd will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019, from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M. at the Milan Community Building. A military graveside service will be held at 3:30 at the Milan Cemetery.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In honoring Boyd's wishes, cremation has taken place.

A memorial has been established with the American Legion Tom Schwinn Post #90 in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
