Obituary

Bradley Scott Stocking, age 67, longtime Wellington resident, passed away Monday morning, November 23, 2020 at Ascension Via Christi - St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS. Through the years he had worked as a CNC Programmer for Boeing, PreMac, and Spirit. He retired from Spirit in 2015.

Brad was born on April 5, 1953 in Wellington, KS to Harold F. "Fred" Stocking, Jr. and Nancy Rae (Cook) Stocking. He graduated from Argonia High School in 1971 and was a graduate of Wichita State University in 1981.

He married Rebecca Rose on October 8, 1983 at the First Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Nancy Stocking; father-in-law, Marlan Rose; brother-in-law, Eldon Titus; and nephew, Wade Titus.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Stocking of Wellington; children, Mathew Stocking and his wife Katy of New Concord, Ohio and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Metzen and her husband Greg of Wichita, KS; brothers, Daryl Stocking and his wife Lee of Hanford, CA, Marlon Stocking and his wife Chong of Rockwall, TX; sisters, Tammy Titus-Blocker and her husband Ed Blocker of Dripping Springs, TX and Kristi Sims and her husband Mike Miller of Haysville, KS; mother-in-law, Peggy Rose; two grandchildren, Jackson Bradley Metzen and Ava Jannie Metzen; sisters and brothers-in-law, Tom and Debby Deffenbaugh of Benton, KS and Linda and Richard Wartick of Wellington; several aunts and uncles; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. at the First Christian Church. Pastor James Byers will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery. The service will be live streamed on the church Facebook page. When attending the service, please adhere to the current public gathering guidelines by wearing a face mask.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 27, 2020 from 11:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Memorials have been established with the Wellington Golf Course and the First Christian Church in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
