Obituary

Burley Ray Bush, age 90, of Wellington, KS, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away at Golden Living Center on Thursday, January 24, 2008. He retired as a janitor from Plessey Welco Division after many years of service.

Burley Ray Bush was born on July 22, 1917 in Grey, OK to Percy M. Bush and Minnie (Brown) Bush. He was raised in Sumner and Cowley County.

Burley served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and music.

He is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; and three sisters; and one grandson, Gerald Hartman.

Survivors include one son, Tartus Bush and his wife LaDonna of Hennessy, OK; three daughters, Johnnie Kaye Smith and her husband Donny of Jones, OK, Ocie Hartman of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Leota Tooman and her husband Jerry of Wellington, KS; nine grandchildren, Jason Smith, Joshua Smith, Paul Hartman, Phillip Hartman, Chasity Bush, Jennifer Bush, Aaron Bush, Shane Holdaway, and Michael Holdaway; and four great grandchildren, Nicole Holdaway, Mathew Holdaway, Garret Holdaway, and Sierra Holdaway.

Funeral Services will be held at Frank Funeral Home on Monday, January 28, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. Chaplain Dan Floyd of Hospice Care of Kansas will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Frank Funeral Home on Sunday, January 27, 2008 from 1:00 – 9:00 P.M.

A Memorial has been established with the American Legion Tom Schwinn Post #90. Contributions can be mailed or left at the Funeral Home.
