Carmen Arebalo, age 85, passed away Monday morning, March 1, 2010 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, KS. She was retired from the Wellington Hospital Physical Therapy Department where she had worked for several years. She had been a Wellington resident since 1930.

Carmen Rico (Soria) Arebalo was born on April 9, 1924 in Somerville, TX to Julian and Estanilada (Rico) Soria.

Carmen married Louis M. Arebalo in 1945.

She was well known as a wonderful cook. She enjoyed spending time with her family and crocheting,

She is preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Jacinta Cornejo.

Survivors include her two sons, Charlie Arebalo and his wife Cheryl of Norman, OK and Mike Arebalo and his wife Quinta of Wellington, KS; one daughter, Julie Arebalo of Wellington, KS; one brother, Manuel Soria of Wellington, KS; 11 grandchildren, Christopher Arebalo, Jamie Arebalo, Jennifer Karnes, Kimberlee Woodrow, Amber Arebalo, John Arebalo, Steven Arebalo, Amanda Arebalo, Nikolas Cook, Joshua Arebalo, and Matteo Arebalo; 13 great grandchildren, Ryan Karnes, Kenny Karnes, Jr., Andrea Arebalo, Julian Arebalo, Asheton Arebalo, Jake Arebalo, Danny Arebalo, Jenasi Woodrow, Joshua Woodrow, Ashlyn Arebalo, Hannah Arebalo, Angelique Arebalo, and Sopheria Rains.

A Vigil Service will he held on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at St. Anthony's/St. Rose Catholic Church. Father Andrew J. Seiler will officiate.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Anthony's/St. Rose Catholic Church. Father Andrew J. Seiler will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. and on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with St. Anthony's/St. Rose Catholic Church. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
