Carol Louise Pfalzgraf, 85, of Wellington, died on January 30, 2020, at Sumner Community Hospital.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Friends may call at the Frank Funeral Home, Wellington, on Monday, February 3, 2020 from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A memorial has been established with the Wellington Public Library in lieu of flowers.
Carol was born on November 8, 1934, at Marion, Kansas, to George and Mabel Ginavan. After her graduation from Marion High School, she attended nursing school in Fort Scott. She was united in marriage with Harold Pfalzgraf on October 9, 1953, in Salina, Kansas, and they were married for forty-six years until his death in 2000. Two children were born from this union, Linda L. Pfalzgraf and H. Douglas Pfalzgraf. Carol worked for a number of years as the bookkeeper at the law practice.
Carol was active in a number of community organizations, as well as Beta Sigma Phi and P.E.O. She volunteered at the former St. Lukes Hospital for over forty years, as well as being a frequent volunteer with the American Red Cross. She was involved with her husband Harold in a number of community projects. She loved bass fishing, particularly during the yearly family vacations to Minnesota.
Carol was preceded in death by her mother and father; her brother Leroy (Bud) Givanan; and her husband Harold.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Pfalzgraf and son, Doug Pfalzgraf, as well as grandchildren, Drew (Kahla), Drake and Dene' Saffell; and Austin and Chase Pfalzgraf.
