Charles E. Sandell, age 74, passed away Monday morning, March 3, 2008 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, KS. He was retired from the Wellington Coop.

Charles E. Sandell was born on March 27, 1933 in Caldwell, KS to George Sandell and Julia (Herrington) Sandell.

Charles served two years in the United States Army from May 13, 1953 to May 12, 1955.

Charles married Dorene K. Byers on April 12, 1957 in Wellington, KS. She preceded him in death on September 14, 1988.

He very much enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren's sport events and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorene; daughter, Dona Paxson; and two brothers, John Sandell and Harold Sandell.

Survivors include his son, Vic Sandell and his wife Dana of Wellington, KS and his daughter, Kay Norton and her husband Mark of Grove, OK; two brothers, Jim Sandell of Wellington, KS and George Sandell, Jr. of Caldwell, KS; one sister, Florence Headley of Wellington, KS; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at Prairie Lawn Cemetery on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Zane Brooks will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 from 1:00 – 9:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
