Clayton M. Hime, 90, of Tampa, Florida, passed away at his home on Monday, August 14, 2023. He was born the son of Clyde and Edna (Feist) Hime on November 21, 1932 in Manchester, Oklahoma. Like many young men his age, Clayton joined the military and proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Following his discharge, he continued a career in public service. Clayton first briefly was a Carrier for the United States Postal Service and then went on to become a Federal Agent in the US Customs Department. His specific focus was on border security and, following a long and decorated career, Clayton eventually retired. In his retirement, he became an avid golfer and was able to travel around the world where he often took in a round at far away places.
Survivors include his daughter, Paula Thomas of Sweeneysburg, West Virginia; daughter, Nancy Carlson and her husband Chris of Jamestown, New York, grandchildren: Alex, Kelsey and Cole Carlson, along with his brother, Gary Hime of Wichita, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Mass for Clayton will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 22, 2023 at St. Anthony St. Rose Catholic Church, Wellington, Kansas. Interment will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens, Wellington, Kansas.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Boys Town, 14100 Crawford Street, Boys Town, NE 68010. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
