Cleland Wayne Condit, age 68, Wellington resident since 1964, passed away Tuesday evening, August 16, 2011 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington. Cleland was a retired Manufacturing and Engineering Supervisor at B.A.E. having worked there from 1963 – 2005.
Cleland was born on December 18, 1942 at Winfield, KS to Sterling L. and Maxine L. (Gardner) Condit. He was raised in the Geuda Springs area and graduated from Geuda Springs High School with the Class of 1960.
He was a member of the Wellington Lodge #150 AF&AM, Wichita Consistory, Scottish Rite, and Midian Shrine.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his two children, Sterling Condit and his wife Stephanie of Arkansas City, KS and Randy Condit of Wellington; two sisters, Donna Swanson and her husband Francis of Geuda Springs, KS and Yvonne Rector and her husband Jim of Riverside, CA; and one grandson, Adam Condit.
Memorial Graveside Services will be held at the Geuda Springs Cemetery on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. Pastor Jan McDaniel of the Belle Plaine Methodist Church will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial has been established with the St. Louis Shriners Hospital for Children in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
