Clifford Everett Bickel, age 89, Wellington resident, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Sumner Regional Medical Center. He worked for Louis Dunn for many years at the Auto Parts and retired as custodian for USD #353 at Kennedy School.
Clifford Everett Bickel was born on May 16, 1928 in Winfield, KS to Charles Fredrick Bickel and Neva O. (Plush) Bickel.
He married Billie L. Mitchell on March 7, 1969 in Wellington, KS. She preceded him in death in 2013.
He was a member of the Kiwanis. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his wife and traveling in their RV.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Billie; his former wife, Dorothy Jeffries; one son, Terry Lee Bickel; one brother, and one sister; three grandsons; one great grandson; and one great granddaughter.
Survivors include his son, Gary Bickel and his wife Virginia of Wellington; two daughters, Sherlene Rowe and her husband Ron of Caldwell and Becca Dixon and her husband Mike of Wellington; one stepson, Steve Glenn and his wife Gayle of Mayfield; one sister Kate Wilson of Louisiana; 16 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; and 17 great great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at the First Christian Church on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. Pastor James Byers will officiate. There will be a private family burial at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church Youth. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
