Corrine Jean Torneden, age 58, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Wednesday afternoon, February 28, 2018 at her home. Corrine was a homemaker and had been a resident of Wellington for the past 40 years.

Corrine Jean (Cisneros) Torneden was born on July 10, 1959 in Monte Vista, CO to Andrew Gurule and Mary Dulcinie Cisneros.

Corrine married Rodney S. Torneden on March 19, 1977.

She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her children, Matthew and Crystal Torneden.

Survivors include her loving husband of 40 years , Rodney Torneden of Wellington; son, Casey Torneden and his wife Sabrina of Wellington; daughters, Tonya Bernd and her husband Rick of Belle Plaine, KS and Fether Elder and her husband Daniel of Neodesha, KS; mother, Mary Ridinger of Lawrence, KS ; brothers, Morris Archuleta of Kansas City, MO and Charles Ridinger of Lawrence, KS; sisters, Valerie Cheek and Sharon White both of Lawrence, KS; eight grandchildren, Rosalyn Bernd, Josiah Elder, Reagan Bernd, Tannen Bernd, Jordann Elder, Dane Torneden, Owen Torneden, and Jade Elder.

In honoring Corrine's wishes, cremation has taken place.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 2:30 P.M. at the First Christian Church in Wellington.

A memorial has been established with the Make A Wish Foundation in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
