Dallas Christopher Payne, of Wellington, Kansas, age 35, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
He was born on October 4, 1979, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, the son of Howard Fredrick Payne Jr. and Theresa Ann Johnson.
On October 1, 2012, he married Nicole Renée McEachern in Hondo, Texas, and she survives.
Dallas loved life and spending time with his kids, wife, and family. He enjoyed attending his kids' sports events, coaching football and wrestling, the Texas Longhorns, spending time outdoors and on the Frio River, barbecuing, bonfires, big trucks, Cajun food, Lonestar Light, all types of music, and was an avid pit bull lover.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard "Hunkie" Payne, his grandparents, Armand and Bernice Johnson and Howard Sr. and Johnnie Payne, his aunts, Bobbie Colomb and Karen Johnson, and his nephew, Jaxon LeRoy McEachern.
In addition to his wife, surviving are their children: Austin Mathew, Bayley LaRae, Jakob Ruben, Riley James, and Taylor Dawn, his mother Theresa Johnson, his siblings, Tammy Jean Payne, Sharra (Andy) Cantu, Kayla Renee Payne, and Clay (Lauren) Voss, John Dean McEachern, Katie McEachern, Jarrod McEachern and Sarah McEachern; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and one favorite cousin, and aunts and uncles and many good friends.
The family will be greeting family and friends at the American Legion Hall in Wellington, Kansas on Saturday, April 4, 2015 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at the Panhandle Federal Credit Union in Dallas's name.
Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
