Obituary

Daryl Wayne Wescott, age 69, long time Wellington resident, passed away at his home on Tuesday evening, August 22, 2017. He was a retired structural bond inspector for Boeing Aircraft.

Daryl was born November 15, 1947 in Eureka, KS to John Wescott and Hazel (Wygle) Wescott. He served in the United States Army from June of 1967 to June of 1969 and was a Vietnam War veteran.

He married Deborah Ann Dark on June 28, 1975 in Attica, KS. She passed away in 1995. He then married Billie Jean Moody on March 17, 2000 in Wellington.

Daryl was a life member of the V.F.W. and an avid KU Jayhawks (rock chalk) fan. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and boating.

He is preceded in death by his parents; John Wescott and Hazel Long; loving wife, Debbie; and brother, Donald Wescott.

Survivors include his loving and precious wife, Billie of Wellington; sons, Jarod of Olathe, KS and Seth of Shawnee, KS; brother, Kenneth Wescott of Goodyear, AZ; grandchildren, Meredith and Phoebe of Olathe, KS and Aubrey and Ashton of Shawnee, KS.

Graveside Services will be held at Prairie Lawn Cemetery on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 10:30 A.M. Chaplain Don Cross will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 24, 2017 from 1:00 - 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends at the funeral home from 6:00-7:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the ALS Association – Keith Worthington Chapter. Memorials can be mailed to or left at the funeral home.
