Obituary

David Ward Nance, age 72, Wellington resident since 1984, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019, at his home. He was a retired truck driver.

David was born on April 1, 1946 in Madera, CA, to Robert Ward Nance and Irene (Leonard) Nance.

David married Roxi Schlater in York, Nebraska.

David enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He attended the Council Hill Christian Church in Peck, KS, and was a youth director, along with Roxi, for many years, at the First Southern Baptist Church of Wellington. He enjoyed spending time at the Wellington Lake with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Roxi Nance of Wellington; sons, JJ Nance and his wife Katie, and Jarod Nance and Tiffany, both of Wellington, Jesse Mudd and his wife Natasha of Beloit, KS; daughters, Jan Kessler and her husband Allen of Wellington, Amy McDaniel and her husband Cameron of Valley Center, KS, Tami Farmer and her husband Brian of Owasso, OK, Chere Vaneaton and Eddie of Carl Junction, MO, and Stefani Brock and Rick of Granby, MO; brothers, Marvin Nance and his wife Becky of Emporia, KS, John Nance and his wife Anita of Georgetown, TX, and Tim Nance and his wife Susan of Wellington; sisters, Mary Porter of Winona, MN, and Lois Osman of Emporia, KS; 23 grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Christian Church in Wellington on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Doug Fraley of the Council Hill Christian Church will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M.

Memorials have been established with the Wellington Lake Memorial Fund and Sumner Regional Medical Center Endowment Foundation in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.

Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
