David J. Simon, age 71, of Wellington, KS, passed away early Saturday morning, April 6, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Wellington, Kansas. He was a retired carpenter.
David Joseph Simon was born on August 10, 1941 to Anthony Simon and Helena (Hotze) Simon in Wichita, KS. He served in the United States Army.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and going to the casino.
He was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Karen Head; one son, Jim Simon; three brothers, Billy, Lawrence, and Vic Simon; and two sisters, Donna Puyear and Ruth Bergkamp.
He is survived by one son, Chris Simon and his wife Kelly; two daughters, Kelly Simon and Sabrina Simon all of Tacoma, Washington; one brother, Lyle Simon and his wife Geraldine of Wichita, KS; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorial Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Austin Cemetery in Anson, KS.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place.
A memorial has been established with the Hospice Care of Kansas in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
