Deborah Lenn Blasi, age 65, lifelong Wellington resident, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at her home on Monday, August 14, 2017.
Debbie was born on March 14, 1952 in Wichita, KS to Gerald N. Mosby and Betty L. (Haden) Mosby. She attended Wellington Schools and graduated in 1970. Debbie knew early on she had a passion for helping people. She started out as a nurse's aide in the mid 70's and then went on to cosmetology school and graduated in 1979. Her career began and for 37 years she worked to please her customers. They were not only her customers, they became family.
She married Bill Blasi on December 27, 1969 in Wellington, KS.
Debbie lived for her family and friends. She was a generous, kind and loving person. She will always be remembered for her smile and dedication to those she loved. She enjoyed many trips to Strong City, KS for the annual rodeo, it was a family tradition. She opened up her home to many people throughout the years. Schwan's should have given her a golden customer award in the late 80's early 90's. The freezer was always stocked with ice cream sandwiches, drumsticks, French fries and chicken strips too. Baseball, softball and football players and parents were always welcomed in her home. She loved to cook for a crowd and if there wasn't a crowd she cooked the same amount. She never mastered the art of cooking for two. Often times, her grandchildren would call and say "Nana, what's for dinner?"
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, Bill; son, Jason Blasi; daughter Melissa Janzen; and two grandchildren, Rylan Blasi and Kendall Janzen all of Wellington, KS; two brothers, Mike Mosby and his wife Kay of Haviland, KS and Pat Mosby and his wife Tonja of Strong City, KS; two sisters, Sandy Brown of Strong City, KS and Betty Page and her husband Steve of Lake Stevens, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
