Dewey Herschel Gressel, age 82, lifelong Wellington area resident, passed away March 25, 2016 at his home in rural Wellington. Dewey was the owner and operator of Dewey Gressel Well Service for many years.
Dewey was born on October 12, 1933 in Wellington, KS to Paul Reed Gressel and Martha Ellen (Cumberledge) Gressel.
He married Annabele Rush on July 24, 1950 in Wellington, KS. She preceded him in death in 2007.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Annabele; two brothers, Dwight and Donald Gressel; and one sister, Delores Ford.
Survivors include his two children, Ed Gressel and his wife Cinde of Burrton, KS and Beulah Brown of Wellington; his companion, Galela Bowman of Wellington; four grandchildren, Rachel Moore and her husband Larry, Jason Bruns and his wife Anna, Stacia Boden and her husband Mark, and Adam Gressel and his wife Jessica; 11 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Graveside Services will be held at Sumner Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. Chaplain Norman Reeves will officiate.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 28, 2016 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with Gentiva Hospice in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
