Donald Duane Troutman, age 69, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. He had been a resident of Wellington for most of his life and was a former employee of Cessna Aircraft and the Kansas Department of Transportation.

Donald Duane Troutman was born on October 30, 1943 in Wellington, KS to Glen E. Troutman and Juanita F. (Tracy) Troutman. He was a 1961 graduate of Wellington High School.

He married Bonnie J. Shanks on June 25, 1965 in Wellington. She preceded him in death in 1984.

Donald was a hay dealer, an auctioneer, and enjoyed riding and working with horses.

He is preceded in death by his father, Glen Troutman; wife, Bonnie; daughter, Donna Crozier; sister, Jana Sue Troutman; and step-father, Olen Gerdes.

Survivors include his mother, Juanita Troutman Gerdes; two brothers, Merlin Troutman and Richard Troutman both of Wichita, KS; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at the Wellington Church of Christ at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, February 1, 2013. Mr. Gary Bodine, minister at the Wellington Church of Christ, will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held at Frank Funeral Home on Thursday, January 31, 2013 from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the Wellington Humane Society. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
