Donna Marie Booe, 80, of Wellington, Kansas, passed away on Sunday afternoon, October 8, 2023 at the Kansas Medical Center in Andover, Kansas. She was born the daughter of Ralph LeRoy Smith and Charlotte (Conway) Smith on November 18, 1942 in Winfield, Kansas. Donna received her education in Winfield, graduating in 1960.
Donna was united in marriage to Robert J. Booe on June 23, 1962. The couple moved to Wellington in the summer of 1963. To this union was born a daughter, Kristal Ann Booe, on November 7, 1963. Kristal preceded her parents in death in November of 1990.
Donna enjoyed her crafts and sewing projects. She volunteered in several community organizations including: the Lions Club, RSVP, Church Women United of Wellington, St. Anthony - St. Rose Altar Society and the American Red Cross Blood Mobile. Donna was an avid reader. She truly loved her books. Above it all, she enjoyed time spent with her family and she loved her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Survivors include her sister, Linda (Smith) Marshall and her husband Steve of Andover; two grandchildren: Traci and Scott McCord; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both her husband and daughter.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m., both on Friday, October 20, 2023 at St. Anthony St. Rose Catholic Church, Wellington, KS. A livestream of the services can be found on the St. Anthony St. Rose YouTube channel.
Interment will be held at Sumner Memorial Gardens, Wellington, KS.
In lieu of flowers, Donna requested memorials to either the American Heart Association or the Wellington Humane Society. Contributions can be mailed or left with the funeral home.
