Donna Jean Hubbard, lifelong Wellington resident, went to heaven on December 26, 2016 at the age of 70.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Vlasta (Stejskal) Hubbard and her father, Cecil Hubbard and her sister-in-law, Kathy Hubbard.

Donna was born October 5, 1946 in Wellington, Kansas. She was a 1964 graduate of Wellington High School. She began working in high school at the Wellington Hospital in the kitchen and continued her career with the move to Sumner Regional Medical Center with over 50 years service.

Donna was devoted to her family and church. She was a loyal, faithful member of the First Christian Church and been involved in many committees and groups at the church through the years from singing in the choir to arranging the peace lilies for Easter Sunday. Donna adored her nieces, Jennifer and DeeAnna and her nephew, Clinton. She had the biggest heart and loved buying gifts for others and was known for her weekly calls to many friends and family to check in and let them know that she cared.

Donna is survived by her brother, Carl Hubbard of Wellington; her niece, Jennifer Rusk and her husband Mitch Rusk and their children Kelsey and Chandler Rusk; niece, DeeAnna Stout and her husband Chris Stout and their daughter Gabrielle Stout; and nephew, Clinton Hubbard and his daughter Pearl Lintecum.

Services will be Friday, December 30, 2016 at 10:30 A.M. at the First Christian Church in Wellington. Reverend David Hansen will officiate. Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

A memorial has been set up in lieu of flowers with the First Christian Church.

In honoring Donna's wishes, the casket will remain closed. You may stop by the Funeral Home to sign the register book on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
