Donna Loree Thomas, age 57, passed away Wednesday evening, July 15, 2009 at her home in Oxford, KS. She was a retired Assistant Director for the Sumner County Maintenance Department and also a volunteer director for the First Responders in Oxford.

Donna Loree Thomas was born on October 22, 1951 in Wichita, KS to Donald H. Thomas and Lillie (Hudson) Thomas. She attended schools in Wellington and was a 1969 WHS graduate.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening, scrap booking, needle work, barbeques, fishing, and reading.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Donald Thomas; and one sister, Vena Mercer.

Survivors include two sons, Chris Creed and Brent Creed both of Oxford, KS; and one daughter, Charlene Creed of College Station, TX; three sisters, Darlene Jackson of Arkansas City, KS, Mary Sawyer of Kansas City, KS, and Kay Cartee of Riverton, WY; and two grandchildren, Cody and Tyler Creed.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday morning, July 18, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at the Oxford Christian Church. Pastor Danny Ginn will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 17, 2009 from 1:00 – 9:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the First Responders of Oxford, KS. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
