Dora Mildred McDonald, age 94, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 14, 2013 at Sterling House in Wellington, KS. She was a former employee of Albin Furniture which later became Horton's Furniture. She worked as interior decorator for Horton's in Wichita for many years.
Dora Mildred (Larimore) McDonald was born on June 25, 1919 in Harrison, AR to Jess Harmon Larimore and Margaret Louise (Dees) Larimore.
Dora married J. A. "Jake" McDonald on March 9, 1938 in Medford, OK. He preceded her in death on December 20, 2002.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Mary-Sarah Circle at the church, Junior Cosmos Club, J. C. Society, and past President of BPW.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jake; brothers, Floyd and Lloyd Larimore; and sisters, Helen Philippe and Leola Harris.
Survivors include her two children, Larry McDonald and his wife Wanda of Las Cruces, NM and Linda Moore and her husband Robert of Frisco, TX; 2 grandchildren, Melodie McDonald and Lance Jensen; and one great grandchild, Jennifer Jensen.
Funeral Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church on November 19, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Brent Clayton will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 18, 2013 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the First United Methodist Church. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
