Dorothy D. Hamilton, age 80, passed away at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, KS on Tuesday, January 9, 2007.

Dorothy D. Hamilton was born on July 23, 1926 in Milan, KS to Charles Jeffries and Grace B. (McGregor) Jeffries. She was a graduate of Milan High School.

Dorothy was married to Clifford Bickel. To this marriage two sons, Terry and Gary, were born. She later married Clyde Hamilton. He preceded her in death in 2000.

Dorothy was a retired dietician for Medicalodge in Arkansas City, KS where she had worked for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Wellington and also a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She had moved from Arkansas City, KS to Wellington in 2000.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde Hamilton; son, Terry Bickel; brother, Charles Milo Jeffries; and sister, Venita Alene Roe.

Survivors include her son, Gary Bickel and his wife Virginia of Wellington, KS; brother, George Jeffries and his wife Wanda of Mayfield, KS; sister, Elva Mae Holman and her husband Dr. Melvin Vade of Great Bend, KS; grandchildren, Troy Bickel and his wife Tricia, Eric Bickel and Gerie; great grandchildren Tyler Bickel, Tyslie Bickel, Deric Bickel, Kylee Bickel, and Kaylyn Bickel; four step grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; and three step great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at Frank Funeral Home on Friday, January 12, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. Interment will be at the Riverview Cemetery in Arkansas City, KS at 2:00 P.M. Rev. Fred Jordan, Interim Pastor of the First Christian Church will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 11, 2007 from 3:00 – 9:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with the First Christian Church of Wellington. Memorials can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
