Dorothy Pauline Lansden, age 90, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Sunday morning, August 7, 2011 at Norman Regional Hospital in Norman, OK. She was a retired co-owner of Frank Funeral Home and also a former owner of Redwood Studio.
Dorothy Pauline (Gardner) Lansden was born on August 10, 1920 in Wellington, KS to Arthur J. Gardner and Helen M. (Frank) Gardner. She was a Wellington High School graduate with the class of 1939.
Dorothy married the love of her life since she was 12 years old, Jack L. Lansden, on December 22, 1941 at the Methodist Church in Wellington, KS.
Dorothy was a talented artist and used her skills in china painting and photography.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling to Europe where she and Jack visited Austria, France and Germany, and she also dearly loved her dogs, especially Cassie.
She is preceded in death by her parents and son, Roger Lansden.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Jack Lansden of Moore, OK; one son, Stephen Lansden and his wife Sanetha of Wellington; one daughter, Rita Moran and her husband Eddie of Norman, OK; six grandchildren, Eric (Rachel) Lansden, Sharon (Rob) Doornbos, Spencer (Danielle) Moran, Megan Moran, Dustin Lansden, and Paige Lansden; eight great grandchildren, Peyton and Evan Lansden, Levi, Cade, Lucas, and Cora Doornbos, Alexandria Moran, and Tatum Davey.
Funeral Services will be held at Frank Funeral Home in Wellington on August 12, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. Chaplain Dan Floyd will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 11, 2011 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with Guiding Light Community Church in North Ft. Myers, FL. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
