Edith E. Johnson, age 93, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother, passed away Wednesday evening, October 17, 2018 at Via Christi St. Joseph Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. She was a homemaker and had been a Wichita, KS resident most of her adult life.
Edith was born on January 25, 1925 in Wellington, KS to Roy McDonald and Mrytle (Sidebottom) McDonald. She was raised in the Wellington, KS and was a graduate of Wellington High School with the Class of 1943.
Edith married Stanley Johnson on June 22, 1973 in Wichita, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Janet Wright; sister, Pauline Daniels; and two brothers, Amos McDonald and Glen McDonald.
Survivors include her loving husband of 45 years, Stanley Johnson of Wichita, KS; daughter, Julie Roberts and her husband T.J. of Wellington, KS; stepson, Lance Johnson of Wichita, KS; step daughter, April Bobo and her husband Kenny of Ash Flat, AR; four grandchildren, Travis Roberts and his wife Mary and Heather Jones all of Haysville, KS, Kimberley Lowery and her husband Jack of Bixby, OK and Kerry Lamb and his wife Paula of Broken Arrow, OK; one step grandson, Clay Jones of Jonesboro, AR; six great grandchildren Makenna, Taylor and Takoda Roberts and Isaac Jones all of Haysville, KS, Jessika Lowery and Jordyn Lowery both of Bixby, OK; and one great great granddaughter, Mia Elena Rodriguez.
Graveside Services will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Wellington, KS. Reverend G. Edmond Thomas will officiate.
In honoring Edith's wishes there will be no visitation at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established with the American Heart Association. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
