Edith E. Olinger, age 86, long time Wellington resident, passed away Friday evening, January 20, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, KS. She was a retired Registered Nurse having worked at St. Lukes Hospital, Cessna, Dr. Howell's Office, and Cedarview Nursing Home.
Edith (Pealer) Olinger was born on May 1, 1925 in Amity, Ohio to Oscar L. "Jack" Pealer and Hazel C. (Kunkel) Pealer.
Edith married Willis H. Olinger on April 7, 1956 in Fairbury, NE. He preceded her in death on April 10, 2006.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willis; daughter, Pam; two great grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister.
Survivors include her children, Gary McWilliam and his wife Susan of Grand Island, NE, David Olinger of Wichita, KS, Joy Hamsher of Topeka, KS, Darlene Davis and her husband Paul of Wichita, KS and Jean Jones of El Dorado, KS; sister, Janice Reaser of Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be held at the Belle Plaine Cemetery on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. Pastor Brent Clayton of the First United Methodist Church in Wellington will officiate.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with the First United Methodist Church and Midland Hospice of Topeka, KS. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
