Edna "Merlene" Pohlenz, age 79, of Wellington, KS, passed away April 20, 2016 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. She was a homemaker.
Edna Merlene (Brundage) Pohlenz was born on May 26, 1936 in rural Milan, KS to Bert Brundage and Bertha (Pearce) Brundage.
Merlene married William A. Pohlenz on June 4, 1954 in Newton, KS. Merlene and William lived in Colorado for 42 years before moving back to Argonia, KS 10 years ago. They have lived in Wellington for the last three years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Irvin and Elden Brundage; and one sister, Nina Allen.
Survivors include her husband William A. Pohlenz of Wellington; three sons, Kurt Pohlenz and his wife Patricia of Westminster, CO, Mark Pohlenz and his wife Marti of Denver, CO, Kris Pohlenz and his wife Susan of Littleton, CO; one daughter, Kay Palmer and her husband Thom Persichetti of Arvada, CO; two brothers, Kendall Brundage and Alan Brundage of Argonia, KS; two sisters, Norma Coffman of Argonia, KS and Nelda Floyd of Littleton, CO; 15 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at the Friends Church in Argonia, KS on Saturday, May 23, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. Pastors John Clayton and Jim Ross will officiate.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
A memorial has been established with Friends Church of Argonia, KS in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
