Edwin Lee Hiatt, age 73, of Wichita, KS, passed away at his home early Thursday morning, August 24, 2017. He worked for Plessey Welco for 48 years and retired as an estimator.

Ed was born July 12, 1944 in Alva, OK to Edwin C. Hiatt and Addie M. (Riecker) Hiatt. He was raised in Wellington and was a 1962 graduate of Wellington High School. He graduated from Southwest College in 1997.

He married Sue Ann Murray on September 6, 1963 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wellington.

Ed enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren; he was an avid golfer, loved all sports, and enjoyed vacationing at Disney World. Ed was a people person who never met a stranger. He was a member of the Wellington Masonic Lodge, Wichita Consistory, Midian Shrine, American Legion, and the Sons of the American Revolution.

He is preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Stanley and Robert Hiatt.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Sue of Wichita; daughter, Jennifer Faust and her husband Martin of Wichita; mother, Addie Hiatt of Ponca City, OK; brother, Elbert "Butch" Hiatt and his wife Wilma of Stillwater, OK; two grandchildren, Hailey and Tyler.

Funeral Services will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Larry Blue will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, August 27, 2017 from 1:00 - 8:00 P.M. The family will be present to greet friends at the funeral home from 4:00-6:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with St. John's Lutheran Church in lieu of flowers. Memorials can be mailed to or left at the funeral home.
