Elizabeth Webster, age 90, passed away Monday evening, March 10, 2014 at Sumner County Care Center in Wellington. She had been a resident of Wellington for 58 years and had served our community well by providing in-home health care to some of our elderly citizens.
Elizabeth (Farley) Webster was born on December 13, 1923 in Pitcher, OK to Walter Farley and Anna Jane (Whisnant) Farley. She attended Milan High School.
Elizabeth married L. Homer Hutchinson on September 3, 1944 in Wellington, KS. He passed away in August of 1974. She then married J. D. Webster on December 26, 1981. He passed away in December of 1997.
She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, planning family reunions, and baking.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, L. Homer Hutchinson and J. D. Webster; one brother, George Farley; and one grandson, James Lee Hutchinson.
Survivors include her three children, Mary Townsend and her husband Allen of San Diego, CA, Darlene Farley and her husband Ken of Tecumseh, KS, and Lucious H. Hutchinson of Wichita, KS; three sisters, Betty Jane Myers and her husband H. Dean of Watauga, TX, Lavonne O'Bryant of Bison, OK, and Arlena Clayton-Hyde and her husband Jack of Boyd, TX; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held at the Church of Christ on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. Mr. Gary Bodine will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Milan Cemetery in Milan, KS.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 2:00 – 8:00 P.M.
A memorial has been established with Sumner County Care Center. Contributions can be left at or mailed to the funeral home.
