Ella Mae Watson, age 87, of Wellington, KS, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Wednesday evening, December 1, 2021 at Glen Carr House in Derby, KS. She was a retired travel agent.
Ella Mae (Terhune) Watson was born on December 11, 1933 in Jetmore, KS to Melvin Terhune and Polly (Smith) Terhune. Ella Mae was a resident of Wellington for most of her life and was a 1951 graduate of Wellington High School. She also attended one year of college at Washburn University in Topeka.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Wellington Church of Christ. She enjoyed traveling the world. She was very active at the Wellington Senior Center and enjoyed volunteering at Birthline.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl Watson; granddaughter, Holly Cole, great grandson, Lucas Cole; and three brothers, Elmo, Jimmie, and Ted Terhune.
Survivors include her two daughters, Carley Cole and her husband Chuck of Wellington and Julie Mirt and her husband Russell of Mayfield; grandchildren, Robin Davis and her husband Nick of Wichita, Jennifer Lintecum of Wellington, Ashley Colwell and her husband Mack of Wellington, Haley Cole of Wichita, Misty Lintecum of Wellington; great grandchildren, Draecon Lee, Rahlee Colwell, Taylor Davis, Pearl Lintecum, Natalie Colwell, Casey Colwell, and Wade Colwell; and friend, Dorothy Crisler.
Graveside Services will be held at Prairie Lawn Cemetery on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. Mr. Wes LeFlore will officiate.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
A memorial has been established with the Wellington Church of Christ in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.
Frank Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
