Ellen May Reed, age 82, passed away Monday, December 25, 2006 at Golden Living Center in Wellington, KS. She had been a resident of Wellington since 1933 and was a retired manager of Montgomery Ward Catalogue Store.

Ellen May Reed was born on November 13, 1924 in Cherokee, OK to Herman T. Reed and Sarah E. (Fuller) Reed. She attended schools in Wellington and was a Wellington High School graduate.

Before going to reside at the nursing home, Ellen was an active member of the Nazarene Church. She also loved spending time with family and friends.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Herman Reed, Jr.

Survivors include two nephews, Jerry Reed of Augusta, KS and Denzil Reed and his wife Cookie of Harper, KS; two nieces, Connie Causey and her husband Al of Austin, TX and Shari Pope and her husband Sonnie of Harper, KS; her sister-in-law, Norma Reed of Harper, KS; and many great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 29, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Frank Funeral Home. Pastor Dan Cross of the Nazarene Church will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

A memorial has been established with the Nazarene Church in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be mailed or left at the funeral home.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 28, 2006 from 3:00 – 9:00 P.M.
