Altalie Fay Hoch, age 92, of Oxford, KS, formerly of Wellington, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Saturday evening, April 25, 2020 at Joy Home in Oxford, KS.
Altalie Fay (Cunningham) Hoch was born on December 23, 1927 in Hartford, KS to Harry Chester Cunningham and Iva Oleva (Coburn) Cunningham.
Fay was a homemaker and also worked as a cook in the school cafeteria for the Alta Vista, KS school system for many years.
Fay married Warren Leroy Hoch on October 19, 1946 in Hartford, KS. He preceded her in death in October of 2009.
She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and rhubarb pie. She was an excellent cook. Fay was a devoted Christian, for example singing praise songs at family gatherings. Fay had a cute little giggle and high moral values.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Warren; daughter, Norma Fulbright; twin sister, Matalie May McIlvain; and one grandchild, Bradley Fulbright; and son-in-law, Bill Bryan.
Survivors include her daughters, Eileen Smith and her husband Doug of Wellington, KS, Charlotte Bryan of The Woodlands, TX, and Melanie Whitcomb and her husband Mark of Rose Hill, KS; son-in-law, Leroy Fulbright; one brother, Gordon Cunningham of Indiana; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. at the Simpson United Methodist Church in Alta Vista, KS. Interment will follow the service at Beman Cemetery in Rural Alta Vista, KS. Steve McIlvain will officiate.
Memorials have been established with the Simpson United Methodist Church of Alta Vista, KS and Rivercross Hospice. Contributions can be left at or mailed to Frank Funeral Home, 417 N. Washington Ave., Wellington, KS 67152.
