Florence Marie Headley, age 84, passed away Wednesday morning, July 15, 2009 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington. She was a homemaker and a retired Clerk at the Sumner County Landfill.

Florence Marie (Sandell) Headley was born on May 20, 1925 in rural Renfrow, OK to George Sandell and Julia (Herrington) Sandell.

Florence married George Clift in February of 1939. She then married Harold S. Headley on September 11, 1958. He preceded her in death on June 12, 2000.

Florence is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, George Clift and Harold Headley; two daughters, Helen Leighty and Christina Clift; one grandchild, Tyson Leighty; one great grandchild, Elizabeth Clift; and three brothers, John, Harold, and Charlie Sandell.

Survivors include her two sons, Steve Clift and his wife Arlene and Rick Clift and his wife Sandra of Wellington; three daughters, Diana Dry, April Dry and her husband, Ralph, and Georgia Terry and her husband Gary all of Wellingon; two brothers, Jim Sandell of Wellington and George Sandell, Jr of Caldwell, KS; 22 grandchildren; 66 great grandchildren; and six great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Christian Church at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, July 17, 2009. Reverend Gary Terry will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

A memorial has been established with CASA. Contributions can be left at the funeral home.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 16, 2009 from 1:00 – 9:00 P.M.
