Obituary

Forrest L. Hain, age 72, life long Wellington and Mayfield, KS resident, passed away on Thursday morning, May 3, 2007 at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Unit at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, KS. He was a retired farmer.

Forrest L. Hain was born on January 30, 1935 in Wellington, KS to Ralph Hain and Blanche (Witters) Hain.

Forrest L. Hain was united in marriage to Margaret M. Ancell on Feburary 6, 1954 in Miami, Oklahoma. They had just recently celebrated 53 years of marriage.

Forrest attended the Mayfield Federated Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Forrest is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lloyd "Curly", Harold, Jim, John "J.B." and George; sisters, Mary and June.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Hain of Mayfield, KS; one son, Melvin Hain and his wife Carolyn of Wellington, KS; two daughters, Becky Hackney of Haysville, KS and Peggy Tevington and her husband Brian of Mesquite, TX; two sisters, Naomi Ketterman of Arkansas City, KS and Viola Robinson of Lamar, MO; one brother, Floyd Hain of Kansas City, MO; eight grandchildren, Ryan Hain, Rachelle Hain, Megan Hackney, Travis Hackney, Jarod Hackney, Jon Tevington, Jenny Tevington, and Bary Tevington; 14 great grandchildren, Abby Hain, Chance Hain, Chandler Hain, Morgan Hain, Steven Hain, Hunter Hain, Owen Hain, Kaitlyn Hain, Jaden Hain, Adrianna Hackney, June Hackney, Duffy Hackney, Kale Jesseph, and Grady Jesseph.

Funeral Services will be held at the Mayfield Federated Church on Saturday, May 5, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. The Reverend John Mikow and the Reverend Susan Stover will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Union Chapel Cemetery, Mayfield, KS.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 4, 2007 from 2:00 – 9:00 P.M. The family will be present at the funeral home to greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Contributions can be left or mailed to the funeral home.
