Francis Joseph "Frankie" Malsom, age 52, formerly of Cedarvale, KS, passed away Wednesday morning, January 17, 2007 at his parents home surrounded by his family.
Francis Joseph Malsom was born in Oakley, KS on August 27, 1954 to Francis Thomas Malsom and Dorothy Marie (Hemmert) Malsom.
He enjoyed the Special Olympics, hunting, fishing, camping, the Blue Grass Festival, playing his guitar, his beloved cat, Sugar, and living in his own apartment.
Survivors include his parents, Frank and Dorothy Malsom of Wellington, KS; his sister Wilma Cullum and her husband Wade of Wellington, KS; one niece Maggie Menhusen and her husband Shannon; one nephew Zach Bales and his wife Whitney; and great nephew and niece Nate and Brooke Menhusen.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, January 19, 2007 from 1:00 – 9:00 P.M. with Rosary to be held at the funeral home at 7:00 P.M.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at
10:00 A.M. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Andrew J. Seiler officiating. Interment will follow the service at Prairie Lawn Cemetery.
A Memorial has been established with the Frank Malsom Memorial Fund in lieu of flowers. Contributions can be mailed to or left at the funeral home.
