Obituary
Frederick Pete "Boy" Gonzales, age 82, lifelong resident of Wellington passed away Monday evening, November 20, 2017 at Wellington Health & Rehab in Wellington. He was a retired trackman for the Santa Fe Railroad.
Frederick was born on September 12, 1935 in Wellington, KS to Bennie Gonzales and Jenny (Alcantar) Gonzales. He served in the United States Marines from 1953 – 1956.
He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and enjoyed attending their activities. He was an animal lover and was an avid fan of the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs. Through the years he played in various Mexican bands.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bennie Gonzales, Jr. and Pio Martinez; and former wife, Phyllis Gonzales.
Survivors include his children, Timothy Gonzales, Lisa Gonzales, and Cynthia Gonzales all of Wellington; one brother, Daniel Gonzales of Wellington; five sisters, Terry Caudillo, Priscilla Lara, Dora Gonzales all of Wellington, Cecilia Gonzales of Las Angeles, CA and Carolina Lara of El Dorado, KS; four grandchildren, Kristina, Cierra, Alexis, and Christopher and his wife Christina; and five great grandchildren, Trinity, Trenton, Aubrey, Rachel, and Everleigh.
In honoring Fred's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no service.
